
The Programme aims to deliver a quality education, with vocational and generic elements, that will enable students to achieve both the basic skills required for developing a career in the industry, and a sound academic foundation for further studies. The Programme focuses heavily on communication, in particular English, Chinese with Putonghua and Information Technology, as these areas are particularly important in the workplace. Emphasis is also placed on the development of interpersonal skills and teamwork, and a student-centred approach.

Articulation
Graduates of Diploma of Foundation Studies are eligible to apply for VTC’s Higher Diploma programmes, which normally require five HKDSE subjects at Level 2 or above, including English Language and Chinese Language.

Foundation Mathematics III (Note 1)
Note :
Diploma of Foundation Studies students who have not obtained Level 2 or above in HKDSE Mathematics may consider taking the optional module ‘Foundation Mathematics III’ for the eligibility to apply for VTC’s Higher Diploma programmes or related civil service jobs which require Level 2 or above in HKDSE Mathematics as one of their general entry requirements. Separate tuition fee will be charged for this optional module.
